The Teen Patti is a popular casino game with its origin in India. It is a game of random chance with the name ‘Teen Patti’ bearing the literal meaning- three cards. The Basics And Simple Rules of the Teen Patti

A maximum of 10 players are needed to play the Teen Patti game. There should also be a deck of cards (that typically excludes the joker), poker chips, the dealer, poker table as well as dealer buttons. The dealer here deals out three cards to each player in an anticlockwise direction with the cards facing downwards. The player that is next to the dealer on his left side would be the first to play. At the onset of the game, the player has the option to play blind (wagering without looking at the cards) or playing as a ‘seen’ player (looking g at the dealt cards before betting). As the game progresses, more options unfold for the player. Irrespective of the number of players that started the game, not more than two are expected to remain at the end. Also, when the game ends, the remaining players will have to display their cards so that the player with the higher hand will be determined and declared the winner. On the other hand, if other players fold leaving out one player, that player becomes the winner. Most times, the player that wins is made the dealer for the next round and you can bet as much as you want here (there are no limits to wagering). It is usually advisable to start with placing low-value wagers and also play blind to increase your overall payout.

Terminologies Used in the Teen Patti Game

To understand and play the Teen Patti game, you should get conversant with some of the basic terms used in the game such as:

Ante (Boot) – It is the minimum bet declared for the game. Each player has to pay the equal amount before the card dealer deals out the cards. Alternatively, it can be seen as a mandatory bet paid by a player.
Post – A player who left the game temporarily will have to post in order to continue with the game and this means paying the amount he missed.
Blind and Seen – Playing without looking at your card is known as playing blind and in this case you pay half the amount that other players paid. A seen player is the opposite of the blind and refers to a player wagering after seeing his cards.
Chaal – This is the amount a seen player has to pay and is determined by ‘raise’ and ‘call’.
Fold – Folding means quitting the game round when the hands are not good.
Show – This is when the game is about to end and two players are left. The two will have to ‘show’ their cards after which the winner will be determined.
